Richard Hockney is an experienced business leader with broad national and international experience. During his 27-year career in the banking & finance industry, he held senior leadership positions in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and the UK.

In 2014, Richard began his career as non-executive director and consultant. He now holds positions on several commercial boards.

Richard has a long family connection with Prince Alfred Ãâ·ÑAƬ with his father and son also being old scholars. Richard has been a member of the PAC Council since 2010. His other current roles in education include Chair, CIC Higher Education and Finance & Investment Committee Member, Flinders University.

Richard holds qualifications in Business, and Applied Finance and Investment and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School and a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).

David commenced his career with PwC in Audit and Business Services and then moved firms to take up an opportunity in Corporate Recovery and Business Advisory, before moving into Commerce. David operates as a business advisor through his firm mcg horizon which he commenced in 2018.

His 25 years in Commerce included corporate roles with a multinational advertising agency, a fast-growing entrepreneurial media company, a financial services company, and insurance and member services businesses. More recently, David has been involved in the global education space as well as being group CFO of the RAA for eight years.

David has qualifications in Economics, is a Chartered Accountant and is a Graduate of the Institute of Company Directors (AICD).

David is married to Jane and has three children. He is Deputy Chair of the PAC Council and is Treasurer of the Finance & Audit Committee and Director of Royal Coach Hotel.

Sophie is an experienced commercial and employment lawyer and the principal at Sophie Rayner Consulting. Through her professional career, Sophie has developed significant experience and understanding in corporate governance structures in both the profit and not-for-profit sectors. In addition to her role on the Prince Alfred Ãâ·ÑAƬ Council, Sophie is also Chair of the PAC Risk and Compliance Committee and was a member of the Calvary Health Care Adelaide Human Research Ethics Committee.

Sophie is married to Will who attended PAC as a boarder from 1991 to 1995. Sophie and Will have four children, with two boys enrolled at PAC as fifth-generation scholars.

Brian is a former school Principal having led three independent schools in NSW and the NT. In addition to his role as a Principal, Brian has extensive educational experience in a variety of settings including Independent Schools in Adelaide and Victoria and overseas in the United Kingdom, Jordan and New Zealand. Since his departure as a Principal, Brian has been working as a senior educational consultant mentoring school leaders, assisting school boards and providing 360 degree reviews of senior staff.

His qualifications include a Bachelor of Science, a Graduate Diploma in Education and a Masters of Education in Leadership. Brian is well equipped to serve on the PAC Council having served on Independent Education Boards of NT and NSW in addition to the Boards of the schools he led as Principal.

Janet is a medical practitioner working in a variety of different hospital and private practice roles. She considers herself very privileged to be part of the Prince Alfred Ãâ·ÑAƬ Community, as the wife and mother of old scholars, with three sons having attended Princes between 2002 and 2016 (and a daughter who attended Seymour and Pembroke). Whilst her sons were at the Ãâ·ÑAƬ, Janet was an active member of the ‘Parents and Friends Committee’. Janet also served on the PAC Foundation Board including as President for a number of years.

Janet joined Council in 2019, and is grateful to be able to continue to contribute to Prince Alfred Ãâ·ÑAƬ in this way.

In other Board involvement, Janet has been a member of the South Australian Sports Medicine Association (SASMA) council since 2020.

David is a Project Director and has led several large teams in complex and dynamic environments in both the public and private sectors. He has extensive experience in the areas of leadership, policy and governance, strategic thinking and planning, commercial management, risk management, project management, and the implementation of digital solutions.

He holds qualifications in Science, Management, Arts and Defence Studies. He is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS). David has held roles as the Chair of the CIPS Strategic Advisory Group Australasia, a Member of the South Australian Government State Procurement Board and a Director of the South Australian Local Government Association’s Procurement company.

David is married to Amanda and they have three boys – all of whom have attended, or are currently attending, PAC.

David is also Chair of the PAC Infrastructure Committee.

David commenced as the 12th Headmaster of Prince Alfred Ãâ·ÑAƬ in 2022, coming from Newington Ãâ·ÑAƬ (GPS R-12 boys’ school) in Sydney where he was the Deputy Headmaster and Head of the Senior (7-12) Campus. Prior to Newington, David was Head of Senior School at St Leonard’s Ãâ·ÑAƬ in Melbourne and was a Boarding Housemaster for six years at Geelong Grammar’s Corio Campus and Head of Student Welfare for three years at the Timbertop Campus. David has taught Biology in the International Baccalaureate and the VCE and more recently taught Philosophy and Ethics as well as Senior Science at Newington.

David attends all Council meetings as well as the Infrastructure Committee meetings and the Finance and Audit Committee meetings.

David is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds a B.Ed and a M.Ed as well as a Graduate Diploma in Business Management. He is married to Sofie who is a medical doctor, and they have a son currently attending PAC and a younger daughter.

Tom is a Director at JBWere, providing strategic, investment and governance advice to private families and not-for-profit organisations.

He holds various qualifications including a Bachelor of Commerce from The University of Adelaide majoring in both Accounting and Corporate Finance, and he is a Certified Financial Planner.

Tom previously served on the Prince Alfred Old Collegians’ Association’s Management Committee and was the Association’s President in both 2015 and 2016. Tom is a third generation Old Scholar and attended the Ãâ·ÑAƬ from 1996 to 2003 and was School Captain in his final year at the Ãâ·ÑAƬ.

Tom is married to Natasha and they have two daughters.
